About Closing Costs

"Closing Costs" are the fees which cover the various services involved in the sale of residential real estate. Buyers and sellers almost always negotiate the payment of these costs.

As indicated below, many of the buyer's costs cover the costs of originating the loan. Since Hamlet Financial Corporation has extensive experience with mortgages and closings, we can help you understand your closing costs.

Good Faith Estimate (GFE)

Buyers get a "Good Faith Estimate" of closing costs around the time the loan application is submitted to the lender. We base this cost estimate on our extensive past experience. Please note that while our GFEs are very accurate, we cannot always predict your closing costs to the penny. We will be glad to review the "Good Faith Estimate," answering your questions and highlighting costs that sometimes vary a little bit at closing.
